Wow. Trump personally intervened to block more than 4,100 Jan. 6 documents records that injured police officers had subpoenaed as part of their lawsuit after being violently attacked by MAGA rioters. The Department of Justice confirmed in a new court filing that Trump invoked

Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to swear me into office, an unprecedented and starkly undemocratic position that sets a very dangerous precedent.

But, let’s be clear what John Roberts did this morning:

Roberts effectively overturned the Humphrey’s Executor precedent and both lower courts’ rulings in this case in order to allow Trump to fire Slaughter for now — on the shadow docket and through an “administrative” stay issued by him alone.

It's bizarre but unsurprising to see so many people waiting with bated breath to see what Ghislaine Maxwell will say to get a pardon whilst ignoring the testimonies of the many women she exploited in a massive sex trafficking operation linked to Trump.

This seems to be the elephant in the room.
The tariffs are meant to be permanent. Trump has said MANY times that he wants tariffs to replace or nearly eliminate the income tax (see this thread for examples). The media continues to frame his tariffs as a “bargaining chip” for other things. Tariffs ARE the objective.
So much self-inflicted suffering is coming because Trump thinks he can simply trade the income tax for the infinitely more regressive consumption tax (tariffs). The tariffs aren’t about fentanyl or other countries “ripping us off” — they’re about enriching oligarchs, but the plan will never work.

So far Trump’s tariffs mean the average American household loses out on $2,400.

This is a MASSIVE tax INCREASE because we’ve got an economically illiterate President in charge.

Republicans need to join Democrats to reassert our power over trade and END these tariffs.
Trump's latest tariffs will cost U.S. households $2,400 this year, analysis says
Signs of inflation are creeping higher as tariffs pile up, even before the latest levies go into effect.

Well at least we have confirmation that the files contain something that is really bad — bad enough to make him worried that he can’t spin it or that it would turn his base against him (and considering that they will pretty much forgive him for anything, it means it’s REALLY bad)
Trump's new line on the Epstein files is that they were probably doctored by Democrats to make him look bad

Interesting. Especially if Murdoch, Vance, and Theil are using Epstein associations to tank Trump. Wonder what Elon thinks. 😂
I'm an observant, no-bullshit person. So I find it incredibly hard to believe that these otherwise ostensibly wealthy businessmen (mostly men) who frequented Epstein's homes and were in his circle had no idea what was going on. He did not obscure much.

Reminder: we don't need Ghislaine Maxwell to get to the truth.

It's sitting in files inside the DOJ that they could release TODAY.

She is a liar, a child rapist, and a sex trafficker.

Blanche is meeting with her to buy her silence, nothing more.
