Thanatotheristes is a late Cretaceous tyrannosaur whose name means 'Reaper of death.' I couldn't help this image of it in Grim Reaper guise popping into my head.

I never want to look back to the past as “better times”. I believe in social and economic progress. That belief is really strong, but being tested beyond my strength.

A small wonder today was recognizing how filthy cities were in the 60s and 70s. In that regard we’re doing better.

It’s not silly

Australia's humpback whales are doing so well that their population is expected to reach carrying capacity and plateau in the near future--they have not just reached but exceeded pre-whaling numbers. For this to happen with such a long-lived, slow-reproducing species is near miraculous. #goodnews
These whales were hunted to 150 individuals. Now there are 50,000 of them
Once hunted almost to extinction, the population of humpback whales currently migrating down Australia's east coast has bounced back and is now greater than before whaling.

10 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN! #10daysofhalloween

Starting today, all the way through Halloween, I’ll put out a creepy poem of mine once a day, read by me, illustrated by quick & dirty “visualizer” videos.

MY TURN!

I think every author under the sun performs this ritual. If you get my novel TRAIL OF SHADOWS, please consider leaving a review the site of your choice—

And, if you’re on @netgalley.bsky.social, please give my book a look! TRAIL OF SHADOWS could use a boost there 😅

I’m not trying to give @pbs.org ideas for raising money—but I am. I would buy women’s fit T-shirts of all my favorite childhood shows. Reading rainbow, 321 contact, square one, zoobiliee zoo. I feel like two generations will run to donate even more money for shirts with Levar Burton on them…

I enjoyed the parallel storytelling from the past and present with events in each timeline reinforcing those in the other. Looking forward to Queen Demon.
