A peer-reviewed study published in The Lancet Global Health estimates that more than 75,000 people in Gaza were killed during the first 16 months of Israel’s genocidal assault — a figure that far exceeds the death toll reported at the time by the strip’s health authorities.
Study: More People Were Killed in First 16 Months of Gaza Genocide Than Reported
The Lancet found that there were 75,200 “violent deaths” in Gaza between October 7, 2023 and January 5, 2025.

When it comes to free and fair elections, Collins is as conservative and anti-voting rights as they come.

The few Dems who are blithely saying they'll support prosecution of all the authoritarian violence?

Where were they five years ago?

#Gaslighting that justice is slow. Making sure the authoritarians were never going to face accountability from Trump 1.0's crimes.

I don't believe them for a second.

We are all potential targets.
Posted last evening, Sarah Kendzior explains anew how it's gone from the Ferguson killing of Michael Brown almost 12 yrs ago to what's happening in America now, and the example being made with Renee Good's death that anyone may be grabbed. Anyone may be executed.

Journalists often go on hand-fed ride-alongs with agents.

Seldom, though, do they get into the cars of everyday people protecting their communities from those same agents.

We just did exactly that, in ICE-occupied Minneapolis:

They've always been anti-American seditionists.

ICE is a death-making force. At least 32 people died in ICE detention in 2025, and many people are deported into deadly situations. They hunt and kidnap people. They gas people. They shoot people. They are fascist purveyors of violence, and lying is like breathing to them.

Federal immigration agents have now shot and killed multiple people since Trump took office a year ago. Today alone marks the second deadly ICE shooting IN A WEEK. An off-duty shot and killed a 43-year-old father in CA on Dec. 31.
Emotional vigil held for man killed by off-duty ICE agent on New Year's Eve
Sunday evening, a crowd of about 50 gathered at the Village Pointe apartment complex in Northridge to grieve Keith Porter Jr., who was fatally shot on New Year's Eve by an off-duty ICE agent.

I have seen three videos now, all of them contradict Tricia's statement. And every single journalist who interacts with her knows that she lies all the time in ways that can be proven, which should also be stated in the piece.
the nyt says that no version of events in minneapolis can be "verified independently." but that's not true! there are multiple videos proving that the ICE version of events is a total lie. maybe the nyt can, y'know, watch one of them? www.nytimes.com/live/2026/01...

People asking me "Well what are the Democrats SUPPOSED to do in opposition?"

They can try opposition. For a start.
Some Democrats hate that their party is largely positioning itself in opposition to the operation that resulted in Maduro's capture.

"Everything Trump touches must be bad according to the base," one House Dem told @axios.com

Said another: "It looks weak." www.axios.com/2026/01/04/m...

Dems could easily say "hey look at the perverts trying to spy on daycare kids, seems like they're all pedophiles like the guy in the White House" it would shame them and there's literally no argument against the accusation but I worry they don't because Dems don't want to offend their pedo donors
Now random douchebags are showing up to daycares thinking they’re going to break a big story.

Many daycares are closed this week due to the New Year.

“State rights” was always a movement based on the idea that slave states could nullify laws the federal government enacted if they saw those laws as a threat to white power.

It’s literally how the term got its start.

The anti-Semitic mass shooting in Australia will cause a national conversation and policy change. We know this because the 1996 Port Arthur massacre led to significant restrictions on guns.
The shooting at Brown will do nothing. We know this because it occurred on the anniversary of Sandy Hook.

It appears to ban any contraception that prevents a fertilized egg from implanting. That would ban IUDs and could strictly limit in-vitro fertilization.
