A nice obituary for Alice, who was going to be recognized as one of The Post 50.

I hate that we now have to live without this phenomenal woman.

It’s useful for people of my generation to be reminded that this wasn’t that long ago. Ruby Bridges isn’t just still alive—she’s only 71, not ancient!
65 years ago on Nov. 14, little Ruby Bridges was escorted into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell, renowned for blissful depictions of Americana, did this remarkable painting for Look magazine. Printed as a double page, over-size spread, it's his masterpiece.

Similarly, experiencing accentism does not make you immune from projecting ideas of "good" and "bad" accents.

1000% respectfully disagree. White supremacy is a move to hoard power. By labeling it a mental illness, we are 1) making it less safe for people who have mental illness, 2) disregarding & endangering all the Black folks & folks of color with mental illness who don't subscribe to white supremacy.
ATP White supremacy is mental illness. No way to explain the illogical behavior and negative actions. I also would venture to say it is a melting pot of several antisocial and other negative behaviors. I personally believe it should get an ICD9 code or several.
