As a side note, this is why many of us have criticized the Gaza campaign.

In one night, Israel hit Iran’s air defenses, leadership, top scientists, *and* damaged nuclear sites.

They’re elite—and precise—when they want to be.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

you notice how not one Holocaust survivor ever said the key to making it through was to give up as early as possible and make sure to shit on anyone who had hope
If you study the successful rebellions and resistance and civil rights movements of the past, you will note that “people who spend their time publicly bumming out everyone around them by emphasizing how totally fucked everything is” do not play a central role, or indeed, any role at all

"nullification of the election results" = "winning imbued trump with sovereign authority and so all opposition to him is illegitimate and illegal"
Stephen Miller is redefining what an insurrection is and making up fairytales like “California is demanding the nullification of election results.”

He’s seemingly just making shit up now.

On the anniversary of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s passing, we reflect on the legacy of a leader who met crisis with courage & clarity.

As he reminded us: "The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today. Let us move forward with strong and active faith."

Column | Jackie Robinson’s Dodgers visiting Trump’s White House? For shame.
The Dodgers’ visit to Trump’s White House, eight days before baseball will lionize Jackie Robinson, is nothing short of blasphemous.

I watched this whole thing happen w Bush! Hard to overstate the cult of personality around him! How brilliant and tough and wise he was! He turned out to be an incompetent disaster. But there was no moment of epiphany,no “wow we got that wrong” just a hard pivot (for most) into Donald Trump God King

Bringing back manufacturing, specifically of high value, strategically important goods, is in the national interest, but it’s a mistake to look at this as a jobs program. Modern factories are highly automated. The actual jobs we need are in home building and childcare/eldercare.

yall we can’t collectively screech that “no one’s doing anything!” and then say “no not like that” when someone actually does something.

is Booker’s filibuster gonna save the world? of course not. but since courage begets courage it could lead to more. I’m fucking cynical as hell but come on.

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

I'm so goddamn mad that John Fetterman is my Senator and even more mad that he's still the better of the two Senators for our state. Pennsylvanians deserve better than one Senator being a far-right fascist & the other being another Joe "With Democrats Like These, Who Need Republicans" Manchin.

There was actually a Quinnipiac poll released just today that shows if there is a shutdown, 32% would blame Democrats, but 53% would blame either congressional Republicans or Trump. The country is already primed to put the blame rightfully on the GOP!

Republicans control every part of the federal government.

They’re unpopular people who have been doing unpopular things — if you can’t make the obvious case that any shutdown is yet another misstep of their own making, you should get the hell out of politics
"they're gonna make us look bad"

go fucking make them look bad. they're fascists. how hard can this be.
