Leverage crew strikes again
I have never thought so hard about what makes an indictment different from a popular summary post on a true crime blog.
It just never occurred to me that someone who was not a properly appointed prosecutor would be able to present a case to a grand jury.
It just never occurred to me that someone who was not a properly appointed prosecutor would be able to present a case to a grand jury.
Appealing the dismissal instead of re-indicting is a way to kick the can down the road and avoid a lot of short-term humiliation over the other flaws in the case.
Leavitt: “We believe the attorney in this case, Lindsey Halligan, is not only extremely qualified…but she was in fact legally appointed. And I know the DOJ will be appealing this in very short order.”

Money you make by having money or owning something should always be taxed at a higher rate than money you make from doing something
I wish we had a justice system that looked at violence and tried to figure out how we failed the person who was harmed instead of looking at violence and trying to figure out who did the wrong thing.
One puts money and energy into the systems that protect people, the other is focused on punishment.

I love this story so much. Also this man drove a bendy bus on route with no damage and it appears no training. That is amazing.
