hard to overstate how bad this is for discrimination against everyone but white people.

I'm saying we are undergoing a wholesale revision of equal protection and anti-discrimination law so that it only protects white people.

Let me explain:
This makes facially neutral policies--like poll taxes and literacy tests--that we know were adopted for discriminatory purposes legal. Organizations can now simply claim there was no discriminatory intent regardless of outcome. It's unconstrained institutionalized racism.

Bringing this back for today's woo discourse, because truths about nature and the universe will *always* be more interesting and profound than the fictions people come up with. It takes more work to understand and that's the whole point, to me
Someone asked me recently what I thought of "healing crystals" as a geologist, so I said that studying the properties of rocks and what they can tell us about the world is a lot more interesting than the arbitrary system printed on the little card at the woo woo shop. I think it landed 💎🪨

Sometimes people ask me how to get better at improvising in TTRPGs and I shrug helplessly, saying "...uhhhhh.... Ummmm," and things like that.

To improve this response I rolled on a spark table and followed the prompt "write a blog post about it".

As you may know, I have stopped using Twitter, and have decided to reproduce some of my more memorable threads here for posterity. Here’s one I hold wrote after a particularly engaging swordfighting lesson.

Buckle up, swordfighting fans, because I *have* studied my Agrippa!

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.
