This makes facially neutral policies--like poll taxes and literacy tests--that we know were adopted for discriminatory purposes legal. Organizations can now simply claim there was no discriminatory intent regardless of outcome. It's unconstrained institutionalized racism.

my AI hot take is that the entire development process for LLMs has been a Turing Test Cargo Cult. They internalized the idea that true AI=chatbot that cant be easily distinguished from a human and went all in on *language*. Passing the test is substituted for the thing you are meant to test for

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.

If you're faculty in any sort of public college in a red state, you're liable to have someone make a spectacle of your course, assignments, or teaching, run to social media, and get you fired for it because they disagree. You can't run a university like this.
