As someone who seemingly went through a similar religious journey as Rian Johnson (grew up Baptist, became nonreligious over time, now in a weird zone of hating a lot of what Christianity preaches and how it operates but respecting those who practice actual Christ-ly love) it's cool to feel seen

The only way we could do that is by treating education like a public good, not a fucking business aimed at producing a product, and that would require the wholesale liquidation (perhaps at swordpoint) of the current crop of folks responsible for the organization of American education.

If you're faculty in any sort of public college in a red state, you're liable to have someone make a spectacle of your course, assignments, or teaching, run to social media, and get you fired for it because they disagree. You can't run a university like this.
