Words are not action.
I have never been able to bear the psychological weight of sitting with a group of women and seeing clearly that they’re causing trouble for each other and pretending not to be. That thick slathering of expectation and oppression of difference is not for me.

So often with women who have bought into trans-exclusion the take away is that they haven’t dismantled enough of their childhood, particularly the expectation to meet responsibility that has been placed on them by their mothers, to recognise it as a huge, commonly held societal problem.

Going to enjoy watching the BBC squirm uncomfortably as their decades long mission to undermine the Greens starts to fail

Maybe I am wrong -

But it seems like a lot of people watch these videos and think "This is terrible, but she will hopefully be released soon"

And it feels like a lot of people are not seeings what I am looking at.

I'm sitting here thinking about having a 15 daughter being chased down and abducted by masked men while the local police watch and let them carry her away to god-knows where w/zero accountability

we have to understand that girls are in severe danger of sexual violence from anonymous ICE goons

Was just at a neighborhood school at dismissal. Hundreds of people with whistles surrounding the school and stationed down every block making sure ICE doesn’t snatch anyone. The same is happening at all the schools around here. I love my neighborhood and I love Chicago.

Glad to see Nigel Farage has finally remembered Nathan Gill, former leader of Reform in Wales - found guilty of taking bribes from Russia.

Maybe he'll now remember how much he took from Putin's propaganda broadcaster Russia Today for all his TV appearances when he was a MEP?

At least one senior Labour official seems to finally remember they aren't in Reform.
The changes won't just harm economy and country, they'll destroy families and force more people into becoming undocumented, leading to more deportations. They need scrapping not pausing.

Sir Sadiq Khan calls for pause on new immigration rules
The mayor of London said the changes had "moved the goalposts".

You have to feel for Sadiq Khan. A 21st-century leader lumbered with a Labour government that has, uncoerced, decided to become a 20th century Conservative party.

Wish I could say I was shocked, but here's the Labour government constraining the right to peaceful protest again...

'You can protest but only according to our rules. The rules are: you're not allowed to use any of the tactics that make protest effective.'
NEW: Home Office announces planned new anti-protest powers, mainly aimed at pro-Gaza protests like those for Palestine Action. Police will be able to consider the "cumulative impact" of repeated protests and potentially order that they be relocated.

I’m trying to sleep but there are so many weird, little noises: gusts of wind, and tyres scrunching on the stones outside and the inside of my brain chatting away about all the troubles of life.

With the government bringing in new restrictions against immigration, many people assume net immigration will nevertheless remain high. However, the evidence actually suggests that immigration will fall dramatically over the coming years and reach lows not seen for decades (pandemic aside). (1/x)

Holocaust revisionism and white nationalism did not become societally verboten on their own. It took great effort and enormous sacrifice to construct the line that ruled them unacceptable within mainstream discourse, and even then they were always contested, the line always being challenged.

Over 50% of Reform voters and nearly 50% of Tory voters (and a good 10-15% of other voters) are people you cannot trust to honour a contract. This is what our politicians are pandering to: liars and cheats.
The majority of Reform UK voters would see indefinite leave to remain removed from all of the groups we asked about, apart from those who have lived in the UK for 20+ years

Also economically. The argument is explicitly 'New Labour's economic approach was wrong'. Okay, Keir...what is yours? Do you have one?!

Watching Labour Ministers freak out over Burnham is quite the sight. The guy’s not even eligible to launch a challenge and they’re desperately trying to take him down, and that’s making him look so damn strong. They’re just so terrible at politics.

Quite. So many Labour people on this website visibly have no idea of just how bad things have got for ethnic minorities since they came on, and how their visible indifference lands.
Also frankly I am quite desperate! A party that’s at best ambivalent on the question of whether I’m English and wants to deport my friends is 9 points ahead in the polls and the current leader is floundering and visibly out of his depth!
