If any other president had threatened to prosecute a mainstream media outlet for simply reporting the news, if he had called their very act of reporting ‘illegal’, it would have been the biggest story in America for weeks. But with Trump…crickets. Including from the media itself that’s under threat!

Here’s the thing about #Juneteenth:
It is the only Holiday recognizing that freedom and democracy take ongoing effort and dedication.
Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation occurred more than two years before being enforced in Texas.
A good lesson in these difficult times.
It is the only Holiday recognizing that freedom and democracy take ongoing effort and dedication.

On Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom and recommit ourselves to the work that remains undone. We remember that even in the darkest hours, there is cause to hope for tomorrow’s light.
