So. Ukraine is fucked. Europe is less safe. Our former allies will never trust us again. They certainly won’t share Intel when the likes of Kash Patel are being floated as CIA director. Women in the US are even less safe than usual and they’ll die in record numbers 1/x
And make it clear that failing to do so will definitely result in their ouster.
Enough of the Vichy GOP.
Yes, this is exactly the time to demand Democrats "do something."

They can denounce Trump's actions as unconstitutional. They can state that he must be impeached and removed. They can make clear that all involved will be held accountable.

These are the core duties of a role they all signed up for.

Questions:

*was this a military or law enforcement action?
*what is the legal justification for either?
*if it is military “self-defense,” what is the justification for “running” the country?
*does U.S. recognize Maduro (or his VP) as Venezuela’s leader?
*If so, why doesn’t this give him immunity?

Trump claims Venezuelan oil will pay for the costs of US occupation of the country.

This false claim was also made about Iraq, which ended up costing the US almost $2 trillion and significantly increased the deficit.
Q: Is it possible that the US ends up administering Venezuela for years?

TRUMP: Well, you know, it won't cost us anything because the money coming out of the ground is very substantial

Elliott Abrams specifically wants this, as does his network. It didn’t begin in Trump term two. Began with Iran-Contra and continued through multiple admins, including Bush and also Biden, who installed Abrams as an advisor in 2023. Same horrible people with same horrible plans for a half century.
Who specifically wants this? And why? It feels like more than just oil. I am not saying the reason is good or even rooted in reality, I just want know what it is. Is it just that some people have wanted this for a long time like they do with Iran?

this is a fascinating statistic. i would assume this is to a great degree simply the obvious fact that green energy is by definition a growth sector. fossil fuels is not, notwithstanding the big run up in production in FF in the last 20 years.
