The European powers, plus Canada, have decided to send boots on the ground in Ukraine, a small 15000 max British French force first. They will most likely be used to guard the border with Belarus, the Transnistria region, the polish and romanian checkpoints in Ukraine and the border region

USA is forgetting that yes it has a bigger general army than the EU, but the EU (and Canada) has a much bigger and TRAINED arctic army as you can see below. Fighting in the arctic is not like fighting in the desert or in the jungle.
So there are small chances to "take" Greenland any time soon.
