I know everyone is excited about Indiana rebuffing Trump.

But in the redistricting wars started by Republicans, Democrats cannot get caught up focusing on November 2026. It is January 3, 2029 that matters the most.

I explain why in my free Substack today.

Democrats’ redistricting efforts must focus on January 2029 to avoid another Trump insurrection
Under the Twentieth Amendment, new congressional representatives will be seated three days before the next January 6th - Democrats must do everything they can to win seats before then

How many MAGA who cannot “understand” Bad Bunny are now experts in the intricacies of ice temperature for the luge or wind resistance in ski jumping?

The best part from a great thread on the turmoil at the @washingtonpost.com

The clicks aren’t coming because they have nothing worth reading now. I say that as a FORMER WaPo subscriber who read and relied on it daily.
6/11 Strategy was non-existent.

Glenn Kessler, the Fact Checker editor, took redundancy after Lewis suggested chasing Fox News viewers.

"There was never any sense of what the strategy actually was."

The paper is trading its writerly reputation for clicks that aren't coming.

She then said “I wanna watch her cry.”

Best take I’ve seen so far on the Bad Bunny Super Bowl halftime.

Probably no coincidence that Shay is both a former football player (Colorado Player of the Year in high school) AND a current artist.

When I worked for Reason magazine during Trump's rise to power in 2016, I was explicitly forbidden by the editor in chief from writing about Trump's racism, or the violence and racism at his rallies.

It was a "sideshow," I was told.
Weird. I tried to warn libertarians about Trump

Democrats spent a decade banning gerrymandering in blue states and trying to ban it nationwide.

Republicans blocked the national ban and kept gerrymandering red states.

So excuse me if I don’t give a fuck about Republicans crying that Democrats are fighting back.

If ever there was a time to make someone spontaneously combust.
wow -- with Trump standing behind him, a man (not sure who he is) offers this prayer: "We pray that he would be mindful of the poor and that he would be invested in the alleviation of suffering happening in the families preparing to bury their loved ones in Minneapolis."
