Pleased to learn that in 2026 @transpochoices.bsky.social will be asking #WALeg to fund the intercity bus program at $10 million/yr. Better intercity transit would help close some big regional gaps. Ws for communities, nondrivers and recreation access transportationchoices.org/wp-content/u...

You guys. Guess who I ran into today en route & returning to hike Maury Island? Jessica & Julian, who joined us on our transit trek exactly 2 years ago.

Love that they kick off their podcast (1st ep!) with trails & parks, like nbd, of course!
You love to see it – @samtrans.com hosted a park ranger from the county parks department to talk about transit-accessible Quarry Park on the most recent episode of their podcast!

I would also worry about this, because you never know, but I’d expect that as with bicycles, drivers have discretion and will largely try to make things work. (And as you’ll see in their next post, it did work!)
I got skis today from the Como Park ski sale.

I’d be curious about people‘s experiences bringing them on buses. I am also going to see how many drivers are going to deny my boarding today.

Synthetic voters/audiences are increasingly being used by political campaigns. They’re being sold as a more affordable alternative to real focus groups and polls.

This is a horrible idea for many reasons, including that the results are weird and bad.
Morgan McSweeney (UK Labour's Dominic Cummings knock-off) is reportedly experimenting with 'synthetic voters' – "essentially fake focus groups of AI voters who can tell ministers more quickly and cheaply what the public thinks of policies" www.spectator.co.uk/article/can-...

Also dreaming of some kind of e-bike share to access most popular trails, along with secure ebike storage at those trailheads.
Passenger in a car on I-90 en route to dayhike for the 4th or 5th time in the last few weeks, dreaming of a train route through Snoqualmie Pass, with hiker shelters amidst a hiker shuttle system along with local transit along the way.

A couple weeks ago we took advantage of the new 222 bus route to get to the Tolt Pipeline trail, then walked to Kingsgate to catch the 535 to Lynnwood, then Link back to Seattle. Lots of cool wildlife and great fall colors!

Good morning! If you are one of the folks who generously took your time to offer feedback on the draft survey I shared a while back, please know that we are turning back to that in the near future. Your perspectives have been very helpful!

Moar!
I know the woman who launched the To the Mountain Shuttle a couple of years back shut it down, and I’m not sure why. It is interesting to see other services pop up and I hope they will be successful. And maybe offer proof of concept for actual public transit to the passes.

Seattle area & visitors, no need to drive to the pass this season. Plus looks like they are planning trips to Mount Baker and Whistler.

Hey there! Trying to get back into a semi-normal routine. Anyone been on any transit treks lately?

Hi there folks, I know I’ve been quiet lately and even more so in the past few weeks. I’ll be back, but not sure when. bsky.app/profile/sher...
I surely missed a few folks in the email I sent to friends, family, & neighbors a while ago. After discussing RH’s survival & treatment outlook with medical staff, I decided to bring him home for hospice, which I know is his preference in this situation.

OTOH, I appreciate this as a warning. OTOH, it’s frustrating that the author doesn’t even consider that driving is not an option for a lot of folks.
