Hi there folks, I know I’ve been quiet lately and even more so in the past few weeks. I’ll be back, but not sure when. bsky.app/profile/sher...
I surely missed a few folks in the email I sent to friends, family, & neighbors a while ago. After discussing RH’s survival & treatment outlook with medical staff, I decided to bring him home for hospice, which I know is his preference in this situation.

OTOH, I appreciate this as a warning. OTOH, it’s frustrating that the author doesn’t even consider that driving is not an option for a lot of folks.

OK, so the Express do NOT do flag stops.
But there is a shuttle in Mt. Hood Village and that immediate area that DOES do flag stops or route deviation (i.e. call at least 24 hours ahead time to get picked up w/i 3/4 mile of a stop).
So many car-free recreation possibilities on this route.
Oregon really has some good transit trekking going for it. The Mt. Hood Express runs 7 days a week year-round, except for a couple of holidays. From Sandy, outside of PDX, up to Timberline Lodge. And I spy bike racks on this vehicle!

"Seasonal service features include bike trailers and ski boxes for the convenience of riders to stow their equipment."

We should be able to do bike trailers for #TrailheadDirect here in King County. The Mt. Si route stops blocks from the Snoqualmie Valley Trail. @cascade.org @kingcounty.gov

You turn off autoplay by going into your Settings > Content & Media and then unchecking the Autoplay videos and GIFS box.

You carefully consider Hot Takes by not posting them and instead seeking out actual news.

And you provide links, and, if needed, content warnings.
I can tell Bluesky has The Juice (tm) because I saw several posts about turning off autoplay and carefully considering Hot Takes before I found the actual news. Thanks y’all.

Be very careful about what you post and share online right now. You don't actually need to weigh in.

Just discovered this private ferry service from B'Ham to the San Juans. Need to inquire about bringing bikes on board, but might be pretty nice to just hop on Cascades to Bham and then take a boat to the San Juans since the ferry terminal is a short distance from Fairhaven Station. Bicycle or not!

“We’re not scaling up … getting bigger isn’t always the best approach, because that can lead to lower quality, lower impact, a sort of diluted programming,” said LandPaths communications director Leilani Clark.

For urbanist types who've heard me complain about detours! I often route a pedestrian detour to get the added distance and then calculate the time a detour is adding as well as the equivalent distance a person in a car could go. Now, I've made a web tool! fancybeans.com/random/non-d...

Looks like a resourceful person might be able to use the White Pine County, NV bus service to enjoy Great Basin National Park. Haven't figured out how to get to White Pine County via transit just yet, though.
