OTOH, I appreciate this as a warning. OTOH, it’s frustrating that the author doesn’t even consider that driving is not an option for a lot of folks.

Made it to Carnation on the Valley Shuttle. Happy 1st birthday to weekend service on the shuttle — we couldn’t have done this trip last July!

Now if there’s already a bike on board, they can also make it work, but it’s a bit more complicated. And wouldn’t work if another rider needed a wheelchair space.

No bike rack? No problem for Mt. Adams Transportation Services! On vehicles w/o bike racks, driver helps you load your bike through rear door, and secures it.

Rode into town to resupply. Thunder Island Brewing super chill letting me top off my dying bike battery; their generous Trail Magic is not limited to the PCT. (Cascade Locks is a resupply point for thru-hikers.)

On my way to Hood River again and met Marco from BC, doing his first bikepacking trip (OR coast!) AND his first trip putting his bike on Amtrak. 🙌🏼
