Premier Ford continues to deflect blame onto the Bank of Canada, even though Ontario's housing performance lags well behind the rest of the country. RESCON says they are in the process of laying off thousands, while the Premier walks back a promise to match the federal government on an HST cut.
It's not you, Canada (okay it's a little you), it's us.

"Canada isn’t in a housing starts slump—Ontario is"
The pace of housing construction in Canada is picking up, but Ontario is pulling it down, a new analysis shows. While the rest of the country saw a bump in housing starts, Ontario saw a steep decline, especially in and around Toronto. #OnPoli

Police hanging out in High Park to harass cyclists runs contrary to their own data showing where serious collisions occur and is wasteful.

I just saw a post on Reddit from someone upset that there were people using drugs the Scotiabank ATM at Somerset and Bronson.

The Somerset West Community Health Centre just closed its supervised consumption site on Friday, after being forced to by the Ford government.

Decisions have consequences.

Disappointed by how this is being understated. “Talk of Canadian statehood” is causing Canadians to cancel trips to the US?

It’s the threats of a coercive takeover, the economic warfare, constant belittling, incoherent justifications, unprecedented lack of respect.

As premier, Doug Ford has a mandate every single day. Calling an early election is a waste of money, an attempt to distract us from his ongoing criminal investigations, and a shameless attempt to try for another majority by pretending he’d be tough on Trump.

He’s got to go.

Drivers usually don’t notice cyclists at all, so how can they be so sure there are “never any cyclists using the bike lanes”? Oh that’s right - they don’t notice us unless we’re out in force, in which case there are “too many” of us and we are “blocking the road”.

A watershed moment for the US, and he most important urban transportation reform of my lifetime.
