I’ve been in game dev for 26 years and I can’t remember any other time where a specific tech was being insistently and persistently pushed on devs as a group in the public sphere.
Why would it? Cui bono? Why would any given dev have an interest in other devs using tech they don’t have a stake in?

My conspiracy theory about genAI in games blowing up more and more by big companies is that they’ve all got a ton of investors insisting they use genAI tools otherwise they(investors) won’t be able to bankroll em anymore

ChatGPT not only helped the kid with the planning but it also helped him correct the mistakes he made the first time so he'd get it right when he tried again.

There’s a heartbreaking truth to this. As @charalanahzard.bsky.social says at least 10x a day: publicly traded companies don’t work for developers or players, they work for the markets. And the markets are consistently, objectively and repeatedly stupid.
BrandXEngine is always going to struggle in that regard, because right now every BrandXEngine is too busy pretending ChatGPT is the future. And next week, they'll have to pretend something else is the future. Meanwhile, Godot can focus on catching up (or in some places, exceeding).
