We just updated The Mermaid Mask demo on Steam! One of the things we've added is a glimpse at the Art Gallery feature, which you can access from the title screen. It features concept art, 3D models and and behind-the-scenes notes from the artists :) Most of it is currently locked, of course...

All the rules to detect AI Pixel Art in this document are applicable to detecting AI Voxel Art.

It's not common at all on Bluesky, but I've seen it on pinterest and elsewhere. AI Voxel Art does exist but thankfully has little utility for various reasons:
If you care about pixel art as a medium and want to learn more about how to detect if it is genuine or AI-generated, please refer to this writeup that I created with the help of the community. Read, download, share and support real creators.

I'm so done with right wing politicians and personalities that all i can ever respond to them complaining about anything is

"god, what a loser"

They're so up their own asses they can't tell fiction from reality

TL;DR Unity -> Godot transition: after 13 years in unity, it took me 4-6 weeks of getting adjusted, and now i’ll never go back. it has quirks, like other engines. there’s bugs. but it’s free, basically equally capable, and well reported issues get fixed quicker than in unity (sometimes within hours)

speaking of cool cheap effects: the shadow from the ceiling fan in Robo Recall is not a real shadow or even a light function or even a decal, it's a rotating translucent mesh

unbelievably grim to see Valve announce a delightful and exciting compact Linux box approximately 15 seconds before RAM became the more expensive material in the known universe.
Valve’s Steam Machine has been delayed, and the RAM crisis will impact pricing. Valve is now aiming to launch its Steam Machine in the first half of 2026, rather than early 2026. How much will it cost, though? www.theverge.com/games/874196...

Hey friends, do any of you know someone at Discord who can sort out server owner issues?

We're unable to transfer ownership to a new account because the previous owning account was banned due to a hack :|
Discord support isn't doing anything about it and I'm at my wits end

Last, but absolutely not least, Beidi (@tinystorm.bsky.social) created all the art for Mythmatch.

Beidi has been on the project from the very beginning to the very end, just wrapping up last week.
Mythmatch is getting to the point where some folks are wrapping up their tasks and also, others wrapped long ago, but I'm only realizing now. So I'm going to quote tweet this post to talk about them.

But if you see this, you can see their work in action here:

Overall: 28% laid off in the last 2 years
US: 33%
Design/narrative: 20% in the last 12mo (most impacted discipline)

48% said they haven't found a new job, and the survey admits these numbers are likely an undercount.

Fun fact: the survey would boot you out if you'd been out of work >2 years.

And hey, I’ll give you some starting points even if we’re not mutuals.

In my view, the most important concepts you must know with Godot are:

- Understanding Scenes & Nodes
- Node Communication
- Signals
- Groups
- Autoloads/Globals

These, to me, are the universal fundamentals.
With the advent of Godot 4.6, I would like to once again extend the offer to teach any mutuals interested in getting started with the engine for their projects.

It is not hard — you can surely do it!!!

important thing about video games is that when you're talking about good stuff (art, system literacy, deep play) games are serious, full of limitless power and potential BUT when you're talking about bad stuff (addiction, gambling, gun culture) games are NOT serious, its JUSt a game man, chill out
