So much talk about spoiled votes, but virtually zero about the 900,000+ Irish citizens who voted for Connolly and the 15,000 volunteers who campaigned for her - nothing about what they want and represent and hope for.
No, Irish media and politics insist you engage with those who can't be bothered.

At the last minute, Simon Harris hinged FG's presidential hopes on the argument that "This country is not far left. This is a centrist country." So, now that the 'centrist' has been absolutely routed by 'far left' candidate... can we expect Simon Harris to reevaluate his idea of Ireland?

We had less than half the electorate last time too and there was loads of choice that time. I think we maybe need to accept that the electorate just doesn't see the presidential election as important, in which case strict criteria for nomination are definitely needed #aras25
