A really exciting morning at Powerstown Educate Together NS where the sod was turned on the new special education extension for the school.
Well done to Helena Trench and her fantastic team in the school.

Drone technologies are moving fast - and legislation needs to keep pace 🚁

My bill to regulate commercial drone activity will this week advance to second stage in the Dáil. The Bill sets out clear rules on planning permission and noise complaints as drones become more common in our skies.

I spoke with @thejournal.ie about how bus capacity isn't keeping up with the numbers of new houses being build in Dublin 15 (Hollywoodrath, Kilmartin Grove) and the impact this is having on commuters www.thejournal.ie/bus-transpor...
'I'd prefer to get a bus but I'll have to buy a car': Transport struggles in Dublin's suburbs
Some 1,400 homes have been built in the area in the past decade – but locals complain public transport has not kept up with the boom.

Great conference run by @windenergyireland.bsky.social today, focusing on de-carbonisation and energy security.

Taxi drivers presented at the Oireachtas Committee on Transport today.

This point about priority pricing by the taxi apps was very interesting - we will pose further questions to the taxi app operators when they appear before the Committee next week.

Glad to see the Taoiseach agreeing to my ask for briefings for Opposition leaders on how the Government is responding to the Greenland Crisis, the new tariff threat, and any possible use of the Anti-Coercion Instrument.

In the lead-up to Budget 2025, myself and @greenpartyie.bsky.social proposed the Baby-Boost extra payment for new parents. It was a fight at the time to get it over the line, but it's fantastic to see that 49,000 families have benefited from it in the last year

With Trumps threats to Greenland’s independence growing every day, a strong EU response is vital.
I’m calling on the Taoiseach to urgently brief Opposition leaders on the possible use of the EU Anti-Coercion Instrument and the impact on Ireland of the new tariffs threat 🇮🇪 🇬🇱 🇪🇺

Minister O'Brien has committed to introducing the Blanchardstown - Dublin Airport bus before the end of the year.

This route has already been pushed back several times - now we need to make sure that this timeline is adhered to.

Dental waiting lists are a big issue in Dublin West. That’s why the initiative from @rcsi.bsky.social and Connolly Hospital to build a community dental school at the Blanchardstown campus is so important.
I was at the opening of the new building today. Fit out now and classes starting Sept 2027.

Further delays on the rollout of BusConnects - here's an update about the long-awaited Blanchardstown - Dublin Airport route.

The deprioritising of public transport by this Govt is having a knock-on effect on the delivery of promised bus routes all over the country - just when we need them most.

Tomorrow the European Council of Ministers will vote to ratify the Mercosur trade deal, which will be damaging for trade, the environment, and our health.

Good to see the Government’s deprioritising investment in new bus and rail being called out.

Some hard questions for the Minister for Road Safety on why, with roads deaths so high, he’s failing to take key steps to reduce them. Great piece by @feljin.ie

www.independent.ie/opinion/comm...
Feljin Jose: Seán Canney has earned the nickname ‘Minister for U-turns’ – and there’s a reason for that
Here’s a riddle for you: if two wrongs don’t make a right, but three lefts do make a right, how many U-turns make you spiral out of control?

Another win for the car lobby this week in Brussels, as more of the Green deal is watered down.

The only winners here will be Chinese EV manufacturers who will now come in to fill the gap left by these European companies.

Our Fight. Our Planet. Our Future. ✊🌍

10 years after the signature of the Climate Paris Agreement, the climate crisis is still escalating.

Yet far-right & conservative forces try to tear down climate protections and block progress.

Political courage is needed now.

No excuses. No delay. 💚
