I just heard about the Cloudflare outage. I hope those of you who don't have a morning routine of offline habits like a sunrise jog, daily hour of meditation, sit-down home-cooked organic family breakfast, and rigorous Bible study are doing okay, without your neopets or newgrounds flash animations.

I pay my motor tax in installments as I often have to prioritise other expenses month to month, and this charge drives me mad every time. This is nothing less than a tax on poor people.

I listen to pretty much anything music-wise, and I'm a big fan of ingenious lyrics, but there's something about the simplicity, delivery, and melancholic humour of Elbow's "I've been working on a cocktail called 'Grounds For Divorce'." that has always made it an S-tier opening line for me. Adore it.

Every far-right riot and protest that was tolerated, every racist dog whistle from public reps, every bit of hate and misinformation allowed to spread by social media companies, all led to this moment in Drogheda last night where someone felt emboldened enough to try to burn children alive.

OK, we're going to need to know how the "fireworks" line made it out into the media, when it very much appears that this is a clear-cut case of arson.

Absolutely mind-blowing* that big parties pander to the right after a left-wing candidate won by a gigantic margin.

"The public clearly asked for this thing, which is why we're offering the other thing."

*and predictable
Nazis aren't known for their intelligence, but they can tell the difference between a true believer vs a weak politician who is caving in.

This will not go well for Harris - not because online lefties are disgusted, but because the fash will never stop squeezing now.

Any Op Ed insisting that Ireland should integrate militarily with the EU, and that avoids confronting EU complicity in genocide in Palestine, can only be seen as propaganda.

Look out for it.

Danya was a huge part of me getting back into chess, which is a thing I now truly love. I think the fact that it's something subjectively silly like chess made this hit me extra hard...
The news that Daniel Naroditsky, a chess grandmaster, died this week stunned the chess world. As the investigation continues, his death has led to an outpouring of grief and bitter accusations that another elite player had bullied him.
Did Cheating Accusations Have Anything to Do With the Death of a Daniel Naroditsky?

I wonder if he managed find time to spoil his vote in between physically assaulting a woman, screaming "c**t" multiple times in front of a small child, and getting arrested
A man (30s) has been arrested in relation to an alleged assault of two people while on a canvas with Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald yesterday.

A video circulating online shows canvassers standing between McDonald and a man who was verbally abusive.
