Thing I'm seeing lately in comments, replies, threads, reviews about AI: calling "anti-AI" people a "cult".

We're the ones that are doing our best to stand against corporate overlords and billionaires insisting we have to use this technology because they say so.

I think you got it turned around.

Call me crazy but maybe if a military and government spend two years nonstop killing children and screaming "this is for all Jews, all Jews support this" at the top of their lungs, people might believe them and do awful things to Jews as a result, and that's yet another reason why genocide is bad

It's a pattern I've long noticed and despised. The racist comments people make about Black people being unqualified or dangerous, the transphobic comments about trans people being predators, the ableist comments about disabled people being lazy, they all end up in our laws.

Be careful who you dehumanize and what permission structures you create for bigotry. Because social media isn't a silo, and judges and attorneys read and internalize what people say.

It's impossible to dehumanize anyone without dehumanizing all of us.

It’s so wild that “a random online leftist said something I found annoying once” is legitimately a huge driver of modern politics in a way that “online right-wingers with significant sway over powerful people say literal Nazi things” isn’t and likely never will be
Literally nobody has ever referred to her as a "birthing person," yet the existence of the term was enough to turn her into a full-on anti-trans crusader.
Ana Kasparian claims the left turned on her over her opposition to being called a "birthing person".

Ana Kasparian: "I don't have kids, I don't want to have kids, and I don't want to be called a 'birthing person', I find it super insulting."

Let me be crystal fucking clear for a certain type of liberal who I will end up blocking in the future or muting because it will drive me fucking nuts

I will NEVER vote for Gavin Newsome.

Most people I know in CA feel this way (because I know cool people).

If you run him you get what you get.
I wish Gavin Newsome was like Zohran.

He's not.

Exactly. It's disingenuous to call it a purity test to say "You shouldn't be beholden to right-wing billionaires pushing right-wing policies and right-wing candidates."

No, Progressives Don’t Want “Purity.” They Just Want Some Courage.
When left-leaning Democrats complain about corporate influence, it’s not a “purity test.” It’s a demand for a better politics.

I love that Zohran did not praise Cuomo in his speech. You absolutely do not have to say nice things about bad people. We should normalize that in “polite” politics: Praising bad people is not actually “civility.”
