For the people who asked, I basically use this recipe with two adjustments.
1. I don't microwave onions because that way lies madness. I brown them *jabs finger* like a normal person. (in ghee then pop into the blender with water and oil.)
2. I use fresh spinach. glebekitchen.com/nearly-resta...

There is a moment at this time of year when the word ‘apricity’ really comes into view. For those who don’t know it, it was recorded only once, in 1623, before slipping out of view. Apricity is the warmth of the sun on a chilly day.

Trump wants to invoke the Insurrection Act to punish anyone who opposes him, and he’s following a four point plan to do it.

Here’s what you need to know about it — and some thoughts on how to respond. www.youtube.com/shorts/31X8v...

Word of the Day is one I keep posting at the end of the year, hoping its time will come.

‘Respair’, from the 16th century, is fresh hope, and a recovery from despair.

Here’s to a few drops of respair in 2025.

WOW. Third Circuit nominee Adeel Mangi's letter to Biden (but, really, to all) is today's required reading: "I have battled for justice, even if it meant there would be none for me."

And, though unnamed, Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto, Jacky Rosen, and Joe Manchin get their earned response.

Take a minute or less from your day to show solidarity with your trans brothers, sisters and partners and sign this petition campaign to get BlueSky to ban a known and documented creep from its site and enforce its ToS. His active presence here makes this app unsafe for everyone.
Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?

And, in case you missed it, here was my report on today’s SCOTUS arguments: www.lawdork.com/p/skrmetti-s...
With trans care — and lives — in the balance, justices debate Tennessee ban
After nearly two-and-a-half hours of arguments, the Supreme Court was deeply divided in the case over state bans on gender-affirming medical care for trans minors.

This isn't a culture war. This is the only trans congresswoman, ever being bullied through the press and legislation, and having only 1 of hundreds of colleagues stand up for her. They can do more than 1 thing at a time. Defending her will not take so much effort that they can't do their jobs.
Defending Sarah McBride is absolutely the right thing to do, and yet there’s also the risk of being baited into yet another culture war cycle that distracts from the Republican grift. Her statement suggests she wants to move forward, and I think it’s wise to take the cue from her.

Golden piece of advice I got: don’t give ‘what if..?’ more than one chance in any given situation. Allow it once and then replace it with ‘what now?’. Bring yourself back over and over again.

Ok I know we need to wait for final vote counts and exit polling and all that but what if the Trump campaign was SO BAD that it motivated the Republicans to go to the polls, and the Harris campaign had so much momentum that people felt freer to protest vote or not vote at all?

Had to name a lot of towns recently. Realised if i made up a 'lost language' word for:

- river crossing
- town
- fort

And slapped different bits in front, names felt varied and real.

Fantasy eqivs to things like ford, wick and chester etc.
im attempting to like, genuinely worldbuild for the first time in my life and fuck it is so hard coming up with cool names for stuff. i genuinely might just go postmodern with it and be like The Woods. The City. The Kingdom. whatever.
