These guys are great! I donate every year and may I suggest that some of the crafts they sell on behalf of the elders make great Christmas presents?
Time once again to rep my favorite place for giving: anelder.org - they supply food, firewood and supplies for traditional crafting to Navajo Elders. If you have the cash, please give these folks a hand.

Please share and make sure they don't lose their shelter. Its hard out here, especially for those already facing losses. 🪶💔
Someone just donated 25. With the 35 I donated that’s 60/535. 475 left to go.
This is very urgent! Sharing here too. There’s a Native person with disabilities from Calgary that reached out and they’re almost getting evicted. They need $535 by Monday or they’re out on the street. I’m putting out my links for them. Please donate what you can. PayPal/etransfer tgtf1972@gmail.com

Brazil approves the first vaccine against dengue. The disease killed 6000 Brazilians in 2024.

This is a really remarkable achievement. I got dengue in 2015, and even with the mild case I had, it was a really miserable experience.

My final thought on the piracy discussion... probably... this time?

AO3 is Right. There.

It's not all werewolf fated mates or whatever you've heard.

There's a lot of stuff that just takes place in the same world as something you've heard of.

Happy Resistance Day.

We exist. We resist. We revitalize and tell the old stories.

Nonhelema & the Moravian Lenapes spent too long being erased and forgotten.

It's a good day to be Indigenous

so glad I shared this story w/ @margaret.bsky.social and that she told it to @jamieloftus.bsky.social

Watercolour, approximately 80 × 132 mm.

I lost my way with this one. The extent of the rust spots were paving my way to overworking even without my own blundering, and I of course walked merrily -- and then tearfully -- right into it.

One of the points Joshua Davis makes in *Police Against the Movement* is that COINTELPRO was started by the police and all the FBI did was federalize it.

And SNCC and CORE did a ton of organizing around police brutality specifically.

My current obsession right now is making sleeveless qaspeqs (cuss-pucks) or "vest-puks".

I have to fix my tāne's qaspeq sleeves (which I'm avoiding) but isn't this pretty?

These traditional, unisex Yup'ik clothing items are called qaspeq and they're the inspiration for contemporary "hoodies".

Let me save you from asking a Native this:

Yes, some Natives celebrate Thanksgiving. Which is cool. It was our holiday first.

Also, some Natives don’t. Which is also cool.

But what isn’t cool, is if you only think of Natives once a year.

I am a little tired of being yelled at for this but apparently not tired about: heroin addiction is not RFK’s problem. He’s a sociopath. Most addicts aren’t. Honestly, walk into an NA meeting, grab the first person with a few years to be head of HHS and they’d probably do a better job than Bobby.
This is what happens when you put a privileged, 14 year heroin addict in charge of health. Duh
