I find I am *really* like this about books. If I start a book and its feeling unenjoyable to read I just put it back on the shelf till it has ripened for me and when it has I very often significantly dig it
Related to this, a big part of my growing up as a reader/watcher/etc was realizing something not hitting with me is momentary and not necessarily final, and my not liking a thing not only doesn't mean it's "bad" but doesn't even mean *I* won't like it another time in another mood or frame of mind
