Today is the birthday of writer & artist Fletcher Hanks (Dec. 1, 1889-Jan. 22, 1976). He was only active in the comic industry for three years but is remembered for his unique style & unusual creations such as Stardust the Super Wizard & Fantomah.

Taking some course training on risk management, and the guy in the video says, "Every day you wake up, there is a new risk on this planet that can take your life. Every day you wake up, there is a new risk that can derail your project."

Shot from the Simpsons, the one where Krusty dies, if memory serves me correctly. Bart is lying in bed in his pajamas and holding a Krusty doll. Homer is leaning in super intensely, and is telling Bart, "Why, you could wake up dead tomorrow. Well, good night." And Bart is frowning and his eyes are huge and worried because he finally feels the grim spectre of death like never before.

A movie that takes place where you're from

A shot from the movie Scavenger Hunt (1979), featuring Richard Mulligan (from Empty Nest) standing in the parking lot of a strip mall in San Diego, leaning against a taxi snd looking at an envelope and eating a banana. I know this mall specifically, it's on Garnet Ave in PB, because it had our favorite pasta restaurant in the late 90s/early 2000s (it was more 90s than Italian). They'd make their own pasta fresh with different flavors, like spinach or red pepper, and then you'd pick your own sauce. So fucking good, though it's been gone for a couple decades now. RIP Lotsa Pasta. Their garlic soup was really good too, though some indigestion could happen. Anyway, even though some scenes were filmed at the Huntington Library, most of it was filmed around SD, like at Balboa Park and the zoo and shit. So, I say it takes place in SD too, so there.
