Okay, I love the Spark email client, but I need them to calm down on updates. I swear some days I get multiple in a day. And it's not just a "hey there's a new version, FYI". It's a big popup that is like "do you want to install it now or on quit?"

Give me updates, but like, weekly.

All I want is a single torrent that has all of the NA Gamecube ISOs.

Is that so much to ask?

As with topics like prison abolition, it's important to note that we can be generally against something (e.g., the prison industrial complex, employers casually firing workers), while also acknowledging that we don't have to start the process with the privileged members of our society.
As usual with this magazine, the author concedes throughout that the point he's making is dumb as hell.

Christ, the extra time added to 3d prints by color changes gets SO much worse when you're doing fine-detail stuff at low layer heights.

I'm printing some Hello Kitty guitar knobs for a friend. One takes about 1.5hr with a 0.2mm nozzle and 0.06mm layer height. 22hr with four colors. 300+ layers. 😳

I feel like the people pushing “AI Prompting” as a skill are like the people that added unnecessary eggs to the cake mix box recipes to help people not feel like they were “cheating” by baking a cake from a box mix.

Just talked my dad out of ordering a shitty AI-slop kids science comic book.

Small victories.

This wouldn’t be your grandmother. It would be a puppet of your grandmother run by an algorithm. It would be parroting them, because they’re still dead.

The people pitching this kind of technology are losers.

Sometimes people are like "aren't you worried about the kids and their nonsensical new brainrot memes"

But like, the thing is, I can still spot a member of my internet generation by how they respond to "badger badger badger badger"

Playing with language and rhythm is fun, it'll be fine!
One of the things we've enjoyed the most about the six-seven phenomenon is the way it comes with a gesture, which we've also seen represented in emoji form as:
🫴 six-seven 🫳
“6-7” belongs in the dictionary, actually

It really seems like fart machine technology hasn’t improved in like, at least 15 years.

Am I going to have to make my own micro fart machine with WiFi, Bluetooth, and LoRa capability? Sheesh.

Leslie Nielsen would be so disappointed in us as a society.

Random, but: I don't suppose anyone has an accurate 3d model or pickguard template for a Fender Squier Mini Precision Bass?

Making a gift for a friend and can't seem to find one.

Just got my backer survey for The Between, which is the first game I’ve opted for a physical copy of since like … Paranoia, I think?

Honestly forgot I had backed it, so that was a nice surprise this morning. 😁

“Using a select is lazy programming. Just have an LLM normalize your data so I can just type my response.”

What a genuinely awful alternative, both data-quality and security-wise, to a problem that has been solved since the advent of the combo box.
And yes, you will need to do some input scubbing and write a couple REST calls to talk to the LLM, but I couldn't care less if that's a small amount of extra work for the programmer. You program the field once, your customers use it a million times. There's no justification.

At last, offscreen crew is getting their moment in the sun.
HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

God, why is the Apple TV Plex app *so* shitty?

It struggles with 4K movies, sometimes just chokes on regular stuff, but switching to the plex app on my android TV always works.

Super annoying.
