i mean, unfortunately yes. like i said the other day 90% of the problem is the supreme court got fully captured by ideological conservatives 20 years ago and the law is now "bind, not protect/protect, not bind"
if I understand American politics correctly, progressivism is something that requires 60 senate votes to work, while national conservatism doesn’t require any votes at all

I rewatched the hbomb plagiarism video a little while ago and a thesis of it I missed before was that this type of person-- whose whole job is stealing from creatives-- do it because they think creatives are below their respect for making things the hard way when stealing is way easier
