One of the myriad of issues anyone faces when attempting to be unbiased in a world of hyperpolarisation (especially the US, but increasingly so here) is the political extremes seek to paint every once-trusted institution as biased and never an objective source, even if it is the truth.
Trump was found as a matter of fact (unchallenged on appeal) by a US court to be an insurrectionist

Oh that is super news. Southwark really is the under-appreciated gem of the Jubilee Line Extension.
Oh wow! A London Underground station being officially Listed is always great news - this one especially so. Southwark station, 1999 by MacCormac Jamieson Prichard, has just been Listed at Grade 2. Now for the other JLE stations. @c20society.bsky.social

We need to start referring to anyone who says this and are revelling in it as Lord Haw-Haw.
Tory culture spox demanding the BBC "grovel" to Trump is baffling. Who is this supposed to chime with?
Just a bizarre line that no one who doesn't use X would ever think.

Russia’s FSB claims it thwarted a Ukrainian intel op, allegedly backed by “British handlers”, to hijack a MiG-31 with a Kinzhal missile and provoke NATO by flying it toward Romania’s Constanța airbase. Supposedly, $3 million was offered via personal bank transfer.
Another cartoonish FSB story.

No! My can of worms, they're everywhere!
Could someone explain to me what is meant when a British person refers to "the middle class" ? Like, in the US, as I hear it, it basically just means a person who makes a certain amount of money, not too far below and not wildly above the median. Seems like a complex concept when UK writers use it?

Corbyn and Sultana clash comes after months of fighting between the pair both jostling to be leader of populist left
The feud between Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana over the future of a left wing party took another twist as the two camps argued publicly over hundreds of thousands of pounds in donations.
Sultana on Monday offered to transfer £600,000 from a company which the party’s founders set up earlier this year, only to be rebuffed by allies of Corbyn who accused her of playing “political games” with supporters’ money. Continue reading...

The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

The key is to raise taxes enough to actually be able to do something with it, beyond placating the OBR and bond markets
Breaking the tax pledge is the right call...and politically sulphurous. Reeves must argue, far more forcefully, that taxes are *the* essential downpayment we all pay for a fairer society.

If Labour want a fairer society, they must argue for it
Labour must make the political argument: taxes are the critical downpayment we all pay to live in a fairer society.
It now seems all but certain that direct taxes will rise in the forthcoming Budget...

On this: it's incredibly damaging to its credibility that Trump not only personally lambasted the BBC, but stated people should watch the channel which the board member reportedly at the centre of this crisis himself started.
I've said it before, but it does seem counterintuitive that you can start a rival, highly partisan far-right news channel and within months join the BBC board of directors.
