Christmas night of 1776, Washington brought 2400 men across the half-frozen Delaware river. It rained, hailed, and snowed, but they made it safely into New Jersey—perfectly positioned to take the enemy by surprise. Watch the clip from THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION.

Our favorite writer would have turned 101 today! Rod Serling was born December 25, 1924.

As he so famously quipped, “I was a Christmas present that was delivered unwrapped.”

As Lois Nettleton ("The Midnight Sun") said, he was "a lovely gift to the world."

Merry Christmas, all!

If you need to understand what's happening, this farce is a perfect place to begin.

A broken, unhappy man is being given a fake award he doesn't deserve by a corrupt group looking to bribe him and earn favors. It's meaningless, everything he wants, and it won't matter to him within an hour.
this shit is just beyond parody, man

When you’re trailing in a baseball game it’s really important to score runs. If you don’t score runs, you can’t come back. And you can’t win unless you come back. That’s why it’s important to score runs when you’re trailing.

seems like a non-insignificant percentage of rage against the machine's fanbase are young republican men driving SUVs bopping their head to anti-oil, pro-immigrant songs thinking the lyrics are about how they wish their suburban parents would get off their back

Robert Redford’s body of work contains “a theme so pronounced that once you notice it, you see it everywhere in his films: the hollowness of an easy victory," Sally Jenkins writes.
What Robert Redford Knew About Winning
His decades of work explored one theme over and over: the hollowness of the easy victory.

When 97 percent of what's being written about a person is bad, it's very likely that 3 percent of those offering opinions are full of shit.

Our president is an unfit fascist. And open speech without government restriction is an American birthright. Or was. Once.

Trump: ‘It’s no longer free speech.’

Tim Burchett is a total fraud. He works the media into believing that he sincerely wants transparency on Epstein, but whenever Trump is implicated we see that he only says that stuff to get booked on cable. He'll happily partake in a coverup to protect his Dear Leader.
Burchett: I mean, anybody can do a signature. We’ve seen autopens used quite a bit. I’ve never known Trump to be much of an artist. I don’t buy it.

Raju: You think someone might have forged this?

Burchett: Yeah…

I'm a professor at the flagship university for the fourth whitest state in the US. Over 80% of our students are white.

The biggest barrier to access here is that due to lack of state funding, we have top 10 highest tuition per capita of public unis in the country.

We also have a food pantry.
oh, we have some straightforward gutter racism. “the blacks and the browns are the reason white people can’t get ahead” www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

Besides, you know, *all of this*, I love how dominant societal groups label people who ask them to refrain from, e.g., racist slurs “snowflakes” while they have a complete, public meltdown over one of world’s most common languages and would rather starve than hear it. Big Jamestown settler energy 🙄.
Curtis Yarvin, who has been profiled in media like Politico and The Wall Street Journal, has publicly stated in the past that he thinks black people are naturally fit to be slaves.
