Good piece. Whatever Trump thinks, Russia is not invincible; Ukraine & the rest of Europe cd certainly defeat it. Now Europe has to realise that waiting for Trump to do the right thing is a fool's game; things will be worse if UA loses; so they must do more to help UA & hurt RU.
In view of Trump's stated preference for Ukraine to cede unoccupied lands for "peace", I am re-upping my February essay:

"For European NATO countries serious about their own security, self-pity is a dead end and introspection has become useless."

At an event in Rome this week a recently retired high-level Italian diplomat was discussing the guns & butter debate in Europe and reminded the audience that if Ukraine had spent more on defense before 2022, they might have more hospitals today.
