I know this isn’t the most pressing thing, but the amount of times Mr Rogers has been mentioned in the last two wks alone is why they’re trying to cancel PBS. They told us we could be good people and we believed them, and good people are hard to control. They don’t want any more good people.

I had an old post on Twitter about this. The US spends about 18% of its GDP on the social safety net and 3.5% on military. Germany spends about 24-25% of its GDP on the social safety net and 2% on the military.

The US census used to tally horses as well, for 1900 ~85% of the 21 million or so horses were listed as being on farms. (~80% of white farms reported a horse or more, slightly less than 50% of “colored” farms reported a horse or more).
