Neat to see the bespoke patterns for Tom Hanks and Bryan Cranston in Wes Anderson's new film, The Phoenician Scheme. Costume design by Milena Canonero; tailoring by Fred Nieddu of taillour.

Note how pattern on Cranston's suit matches across the gorge, the seam connecting the collar to the lapel.
Two sets of paper patterns, one for Bryan Cranston, the other for Tom Hanks. Cranston's outfit includes a three-piece suit with a two-button single-breasted jacket and double pleated trousers. AbdesSalaam Attar: Self-taught Sufi perfumer who only uses natural ingredients. Many of his perfumes feel like you're walking through a Middle Eastern bazaar. Milano Caffe, Cuoio dei Dolci, and Tabac are worth a sniff.

even in an ICE detention center people will treat art as sacred, seek it out, and find joy and comfort in it. You aren’t making art, you’re making hope.
On her first day in the facility, Becky asked for a scrap of paper and a pen, and began to draw the inmates on the table next to her. She was immediately inundated with portrait requests. A Mexican woman called Lopez, who had a photo of her children stored on one of the iPads, told Becky she would buy her some paper and colouring pencils from the commissary if Becky drew her kids. She soon became the dorm’s unofficial artist-in-residence, with women huddling around the dirty mirrors to make themselves look presentable before they sat for her. They would decorate their cells with Becky’s drawings, or send them to their families. Lopez declared herself Becky’s manager. “She kept saying, ‘Becky, you need to ask for stuff in exchange. Ask for popcorn.’ And I’d be like, ‘Lopez, I don’t need anything.’ I thought, I’m here briefly, you’re stuck here a long time. I was at a punk show in 83 where a skinhead jumped up on stage and gave a Nazi salute.

The bass player hit him with his bass, knocking him into the crowd and 150 people collectively hauled his ass out of the venue and threw him in the mud.

This was the right and only appropriate response.
