I think if an OF were indeed good enough to be named the best defender in the entire NL in two out of three years, then they’d also be good enough to play CF on a regular basis during that time.

Nothing sums up my dislike of Smoltz more than ignoring the great play by Varsho off the carom to criticize the baserunning only to then criticize Rodriguez for not doing the same thing in the next half inning. Just plainly looking for things to criticize over enjoying the game.

It remains incredibly lame that the LLWS still has bracket split between US and international. Aside from the whole issue of transparently stacking the deck, it would be a plainly better experience for kids from Pennsylvania to play Japan or Mexico over South Dakota and Illinois.
