The first translation of Beatrix Potter’s The Tale of Peter Rabbit to appear in any language besides English was in a Japanese farming magazine in 1906.
The translation called Mr. McGregor Grandpa Mokubei and described him as “more fearsome than red and blue ogres”.

Looks to me our DC Mayor and Council Chair have gotten absolutely nothing with their capitulation and complacency. What monumental cowards. Or they’re just bad people. Who knows - the consequences for everyone else are the same either way.
