If you are in Seattle, please go patronize this store because this is amazing content/promo 😂 (laughing to keep from crying, and I do kind of low-key want that orange spider plant I have never seen that before)

In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

You're laughing. The common people are setting up Looney Tunes style traps for the villains attacking their neighbourhoods, and you're laughing.

I am seeing folks still planning travel to the US for events.

So a reminder that this was what they were doing to White travelers last year before they'd really ramped up the ICE/CBP kidnapping/torture/murder machine.

I’m the Canadian who was detained by Ice for two weeks. It felt like I had been kidnapped
I was stuck in a freezing cell without explanation despite eventually having lawyers and media attention. Yet, compared with others, I was lucky

ok stay with me on this one... sometimes you have writer's block because you're not in Text World. you have to read until you're back in Text World. if you don't read, you're writing in the real world. sentences won't feel right or they'll look goofy. not in Text World though

"Brb"
- quick but boring
- reminiscent of a bygone era
- allows only a brief break

"____ WILL RETURN IN AVENGERS DOOMSDAY"
- descriptive, clear, current
- confident certainty yet undefined expectations - take as long as you want
- impossible to refute until the recipient watches Avengers Doomsday

Pssst: Because of your support for indies & love for audiobooks, we were able to pay our bookshop partners 80% more in 2025 than the prior year❗

We also became a B Corp, fought book bans, raised $55k for libraries, launched a web player (y'all LOVE listening at work), & more—all because of you.

If you’re afraid to start learning how to draw something because you’re afraid it will turn out bad, do it as a joke and draw it as badly as you can on purpose. It’s surprising how much you can improve when you aren’t afraid to mess up

Thinking about how I was invited by my old employer (the burnout one) to the viewing party of a project I'd worked on while I was there

Only to get to the end and see my name missing from the credits 🤣 They didn't realize. I had to tell them

Irony must have had fun that day cause whewwww 😂
