Who is the happy Warrior? Who is he
That every man in arms should wish to be?

A determination to be happy in-spite of all that occurs.

I did an interview where I talked at length about why liberal analyses of how to win elections are wrong, why social media matters so much, what’s changed, what’s the same, why Marxists are deeply unsuited for this moment, how people think, and more.

In recent years, the American researcher (and committed social media poster) Will Stancil has emerged as one of the most prominent and vociferous critics of materialist theories of politics, and of th...

"If Trump decided to bulldoze the entire White House complex, pave it over, and move the seat of executive power permanently to Camp David, or Mar-a-Lago, or Moscow, could he do that?" We do in fact have to ask this.

If I ran for President in 2028, I’d run on taking a bulldozer to Trump’s ballroom, an utter desecration of the peoples’ house. In fact, I’d invite the American people one weekend to bring their own sledgehammers & crowbars to the White House to help tear that abomination down.
This is a desecration and an abomination. First he posts an AI video of himself wearing a crown dumping shit on the heads of Americans, then he starts tearing down part of the White House for his Mar-a-Lago style ballroom.

Stephen miller is actively calling for a civil war right now on Twitter.

I really do not think Americans are taking in the reality that the federal government is openly admitting to waging war against democratically held cities and states and what comes now that this is being openly said.

an important dynamic in 2024 was voters saying "oh well he won't actually do the things that he promised to do" because for like four cycles in a row presidents have been elected to make sweeping changes and have basically fizzled

it is possible to be clear-eyed about what we’re facing without throwing up your hands and going, well, I guess we’ve lost forever, nothing we can do about it

we have not and we shouldn’t make it easier for them

Yes, Bluesky is a great demonstration of how the problem with fragmented information ecosystem is STRUCTRUAL, not that the wrong people own them. The admins here are not malicious and don't do very much. The problem is that the basic choose-your-own-reality dynamic still pervades.
This site has helped disabuse me of that thought - it's definitely better than Xitter but it's pretty clear now that something malign arises structurally from having this kind of a website regardless of the light touch/general good intentions of the admins

I get very frustrated when Christians complain that they don’t feel at home in our culture. You’re not supposed to feel at home, in any culture. If you’re doing it right and taking it seriously, you’re 100% supposed to feel like a fish out of water.

this is why we need to bring back shame

there need to be consequences for being a huge asshole, there need to be standards for how you behave in a decent society

the rules cannot be set by the worst of us
the cultural crisis is straightforward: there are no longer any formal consequences for blatantly anti-social behavior, and the rest of us are constantly just getting lectured that we have to put up with these assholes making our lives worse
Imagine if NPR had actually talked to safe streets advocates for this story and learned how the solutions to drivers killing people is not, in fact, victim blaming

Idk but I've increasingly sold myself on an explanation of contemporary American politics as the traditional electoral battleground (rurals) leaping red sharply, while the old GOP heartlands (suburbs) and new battlegrounds have lurched left but still remain fairly red
Idk it really seems like the story of the last 40 years is suburbs going supernova for republicans in the 70s and 80s, rurals going from contested to red from in the 2000s and 2010s, while most suburbs have shifted left from cherry red to light red (some have become blue or even sapphire)

How is it that some politicians who drape themselves in the Bible and can’t talk enough about their professed faith can lie, deceive and side with people who do really bad things?

Simple.

Their conscience doesn’t work anymore. 1 Timothy 4:1-2.
