As a software engineer, let me just say that it's *extremely* telling that AI has brought lines-of-code back as a metric worth pretending is remotely worth giving a shit about.

I don't think there's a kind conclusion to draw here except that gamers and much of the gaming audience is *weak* in a real way. Soft, lacking callouses.
Any "solution" to this issue has to come with first admitting that so much of the audience is comprised of, frankly, little babies.
