The thing is, I don't really care about the Epstein Files. I'm pretty certain they are damning. I'm also pretty certain that the people who would care that they are damning are the people who already think Trump has no business being president. So I'd rather focus on disrupting his agenda.

I just want everyone to have the experience of living in dignity with access to sufficient food, safe housing, needed medical care, high quality education, and time to engage with what sparks their curiosity and spirit

this should not be controversial 🫠

Today began with a baby much more interested in my necklace than nursing, continued with a funeral for a beloved 93 year old congregant and an uber home with a driver telling me all about his career with Mr. Softee, and will end with Intergenerational Shabbat and I hope sleep. Shabbat Shalom y'all

Did Donald Trump raid the 6 billion dollar contingency fund for SNAP? Because suing for the right to starve people is beyond the pale

It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

BREAKING: The Supreme Court will allow the Trump administration to enforce its anti-trans and anti-nonbinary passport policy during litigation.

The unsigned, four-paragraph order effectively reverses two lower-court decisions. The Democratic appointees dissent.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video.

I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children.

But I do know that this isn’t sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.

My big advice for how to survive right now is to watch/read/listen to what makes you laugh

You have to give yourself a chance to laugh

To be clear, it is genuinely bad, at a time when neo-Nazism is making a comeback in American political discourse, that we do not have a watchdog organization on antisemitism that can be taken seriously. But the ADL has not behaved in a way over the past year that is worthy of that role.

Just had this realization that for the first time I'm actually, like, excited(?!) to be invited to receptions at Gracie Mansion and to the annual Mayor's Interfaith Breakfast because I don't feel like they'll be pandering and as an NYC rabbi that is a delightful development!

I know that a lot of New Yorkers are scared and disappointed. I understand.

And I’m crying with joy as I nurse my baby born a month after Trump’s election. I’m so grateful that he’s going to spend his early years in a city with a mayor who genuinely cares about the people he serves

This morning I voted for a city where I hope to be able to afford to raise my child, where I pray my child will be safe, and where politicians are for and of the people— not above the people.

I voted for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and I hope you will too

Hey so like when Trump, Miller and Musk are all saying they support the same candidate for NYC mayor— and not the one representing their party— maybe I…don’t wanna vote for him? Maybe?

While this is not a thing I would buy I will say that I did accidentally put pumpkin spice in my baby’s scrambled egg this morning when I meant to add cumin and he was DELIGHTED.

(I guess that’s just French toast hold the toast?)
Why?

...Why?

....why?

A tough truth the day before the election:

No matter who wins, the amount of election coverage that’s been focused on the Jews is likely going to bring about more antisemitism in this city. We will be blamed for any outcome even though we’re 12% of NYC’s pop. This is how antisemitism works.

And..

Early this morning, our city still plunged into darkness, I set off to walk the Brooklyn Bridge.

As the sun came up, we were joined by canvassers, labor leaders, elected officials, and working people — a movement to bring a new day to our city.

Tomorrow, we win it together.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

I’m so glad the coop is doing this.

It is absurd that the coop needs to do this.
To support members whose SNAP is delayed, we’re launching a temporary, member-funded assistance program to help bridge the gap & ensure members can continue purchasing SNAP-eligible groceries

Contributions of any size are welcome - $5, $10, or $25 can make a real difference.
