Evil American Airlines rebooked a flight meant to land at 1pm today for 9am tomorrow. I had to cancel and rebook for hundreds over the original price.

But thanks to Biden’s new refund rules, they gave me the money back on the original flight.

I am begging people who are in positions of power in the Democratic Party to understand where the levers of power are and target them accordingly

"it shouldn't be this way" doesn't matter; if you want to change it, you use the tools that exist with the same ruthlessness as your opponents
court reform is not some niche issue for activists, it’s the policy precondition that unlocks every other policy goal the Democratic Party has. it’s that or decades of right wing theocracy; no in-betweens

Trump really ought to be tried for treason for this. By admitting that he is collaborating with a foreign power in the kidnapping of an American, and holding him hostage, he is aiding and abetting our enemies:
How can he still shock me after all this time? How is it possible? I have the absolute lowest opinion of him and yet he always can go lower.

Huh. Turns out taxing the rich actually works. Who knew?
The Massachusetts "millionaires tax" has vastly surpassed projections, bringing in more than $1.8 billion in revenue so far this fiscal year — with the prospect of a surplus of hundreds of millions of dollars to spend on transportation and education
State’s ‘millionaires tax’ has already generated $1.8 billion this year, blowing past state projections - The Boston Globe
The estimated haul is already $800 million more than what Governor Maura Healey and state lawmakers planned to spend from its revenue in fiscal year 2024.

I was wondering about this. Guy goes hunting for BLM protestors. Saw one carrying a weapon -- completely legal in TX, tho apparently not for some people -- and killed him. He raised self-defense arguments at trial, was convicted anyway. Gov Abbot promised immediately to pardon him, and now has.
The Texas parole board has unanimously recommended a pardon for ex-Army sergeant Daniel Perry, who was convicted of murder for the 2020 killing of Black Lives Matter protester Garrett Foster

I think school board members shouldn't be allowed to make decisions on curriculum that they, themselves, have not read, studied, and proven they understand by completing the course. Only once they have accomplished that, should they be allowed to make decisions on it.

It is not lost on the voting bloc of African Americans, the swiftness with which all of the incremental progress that we have won *for all people* through blood, death, organization, protest, civil and uncivil unrest & of course voting, is dashed away in an instant at the whim of white establishment
UNC trustees voted this morning to reallocate the university's $2.3 million DEI budget to campus police.

Budget vice chair: “I think that DEI in a lot of people’s minds is divisiveness, exclusion and indoctrination. We need more unity and togetherness, more dialogue, more diversity of thought.”
