Biked about 5 miles and back to Dupont Circle. While the MBT to R west was pretty low-stress, was NOT a fan of Q St eastbound just dumping you on Florida and N.Cap where you have a couple of blocks to get to DTC and pick up the FL Ave lanes. However, the FL Ave connection to 14th south is niiiiiice.

We really are our own worst enemies. Finishing up a project I started back in May that should have been done months ago. And of course it looks amazing but I totally psyched myself out and made excuses to put it off. Now to tackle the three billion (three) other things I'm behind on. *sigh*

One of my friends who was laid off at the same time as me has exhausted their unemployment benefits. They've been applying to at least two jobs a week most of this year, with only a handful of interviews. The federal government's torching support systems, what are we supposed to do???

i fully agree with this theory and in my actual field, british architectural history, The Problem is that Salisbury Cathedral is built on top of a lake and no i am not exaggerating
between this and the FSO Safer (another ship at serious risk of exploding) I’m convinced every field has its “yeah, this is the problem that keeps me up at night” and I’m on a quest to learn about all of them

Interesting that while health insurance has been going up, my dental coverage, which I’ve paid out of pocket since 2022, has decreased in cost each year. 🤷🏻♀️
