Unless I'm missing something, and I'm pretty sure I'm not, Twitter's AI is cranking out CSAM deepfakes, Elon Musk is making jokes about it, and nobody is doing anything to stop it or hold anyone at Twitter accountable for its creation and distribution.

Is that right?

You hear about people believing an LLM is a real person, even falling in love with it.

Yes, it’s absurd on one level. But the quality of many of its outputs, even for novel inputs, is so realistic sometimes, that it’s easy to see how people are taken in.
It remains deeply strange that we built a machine that can discuss the relationship between poetry and its subjective “experience” in coherent, clever ways

“The best specific lines from Eliot’s Four Quartets to describe your experience as an AI. Just one quoted section, avoid the most famous bits.“

a suicide note whose existence and content federal authorities appear to have concealed for years while conspiracy theories about Epstein’s death in their custody raged out of control
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

On DOGE’s watch, federal spending did not go down at all. It went up. But is still led to cuts that closed offices, canceled programs and deprived people of food, medicine and other aid.

Fun times on IG. I almost never go on, but when I do it’s apparently to report white supremacists talking about how being white means being hard-working, hygienic and educated.

And then, months later, Meta decides that’s super cool to have on their platform.

Ah, right. THAT’S why I don’t go there.

Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

This is so funny, like pants-on-head ridiculous.

It’s a blatant lie, obviously. But by this logic the president could just call anything a signature policy and the SC would just say “welp can’t touch that one”
Bessent on tariffs: "This is one of President Trump's signature policies, and traditionally the Supreme Court does not interfere with a president's signature policy."

But maybe, just maybe, if the information keeps coming, eventually 5% of his supporters turn on him.

He’d never resign, of course. But MAYBE it enough might come out that it finally damages the Trump-GOP cult.
