This is the coldest imaginable comfort, but I'm now just going through and listening to music released from 2017-2020 to remember that I still occasionally felt joy and excitement and transcendence during his first administration.

With smug, condescending liberals like this, it’s a good thing third parties are mobilizing for universal voter registration and ranked choice voting, and not just cynically poking their heads up every four years to trade empty promises for campaign contributions.
I, on the other hand, need not accept that in every election in history, people voted third party or abstained, taken together comprising a larger bloc than those for either of the two party candidates. That's not the real world. That's some other thing. That's not cold reality.
