While the mainstream discussions are depressingly about *how* best to remove and stop immigrants, it’s a revolutionary act nowadays to say that immigration is actually a positive thing and an essential component of a thriving country, so please join me in doing so!

1/ I guess I’m ‘The Good Immigrant’:

Been here most of my life now, never claimed benefits, paid taxes, worked for the NHS, taught students, done research for public good, volunteered, spoke English fluently.

So why do I feel so alienated and hurt by the government’s anti- immigrant rhetoric?

Remember: If we allow ourselves to fall into fatalism, or wallow in disappointment, or become resigned to what is rather than what should be, we will lose the long game.

The greatest enemy of positive social change is cynicism about what can be changed.

9 - protestors arrested

Proscribed group protests:
0 - police officers injured
1,600 - protestors arrested

This article…

… is, by a long way, the clearest account of the UK government’s complicity in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza that I have ever read.

Please read and share.
In all but name: is Gaza Britain’s undeclared war?
Britain isn’t just watching Gaza burn – it’s helping fuel the fire, with weapons, intelligence, and silence

Today's summit reinforced we're neighbours, not "strangers". That change happens when communities come together, when we lift each other up, and when we refuse to let hate define our future. We must all join the march on WRD 21 June to say

I'm grateful for all of the responses. But this is happening to thousands of women, cis and trans, up and down the country. Every day. The only difference is she and I have a voice.

Fuck all of those, especially the institutions, who didn't do the work before piling in on 'the transgender issue.'

Last year my wife had breast cancer and a double mastectomy.

This morning, for the first time ever, she was challenged in the changing rooms at the swimming pool. Her breasts were not what make her a woman - but, breasts or not, she is entitled to dignity and protection from vigilantes.

A "culture war" would be a disagreement about whether we as a society shake hands or hug when meeting someone new by default. It's not a war about whether trans people should be allowed to use the toilet, or whether black people should be allowed to teach at university. That's just supremacism
