The “Pathways” trial is, IMO on more than one level, a thoroughly unethical piece of “research” to be carrying out on children, especially children who are part of a marginalised minority.

This happens because transphobia is an institutional imperative and never considered a conflict of interest, or an impediment to providing trans people with care.
The status quo of transition care is trans people subjecting ourselves to the whims of bigots who want to humiliate and exploit us.

I think it's important to note the audience for this isn't really cisgender LGB people (who polling tells us overwhelmingly favor trans rights) but is meant to serve as a permission structure for a broader audience to abandon trans rights while still claiming they're "liberal"
