November 2025 was a mild month in #London with average temperature of 9.6C +1.2C above 1991-2020 average.

It could have been much more extreme. The first half was record breaking "warm" the second half overall was colder than average.

With this and the approval of the transparently bogus Forest trust arrangement, Uefa can at least claim that they took decisions based on what the paperwork said, and that clubs can get away with anything if the paperwork is in order.

Occasional reminder that there are few things better and more energising than walking through central London, tipsy after a great evening out. I will never not be proud that this is a city where people come to from all over the world to make a better life for themselves.

On this day in 1936 the Crystal Palace in south-east London was destroyed by fire. The blaze was so big it could be seen for miles and was watched by an estimated 100,000 people. Read here about the history of the Crystal Palace www.thehistoryoflondon.co.uk/the-great-ex...

Just had to slowly repeat myself to a Manc in the pub to be understood and suddenly quite taken by the idea that my south London drawl (think Gary Oldman in Slow Horses) is as incomprehensible to people from not there as my Glaswegian relatives were to me as a child.

Where did that Eze kid at Arsenal come from ?

Massive credit goes to Arsenal's scouting system for signing an unknown gem for a nominal fee and also Mikel Arteta for turning him into a world class player within 6 months.

Most of our region will see a spell of cold ☔️ tomorrow morning.

It may have a more wintry flavour on back edge later in morn, but more likely sleety rain to low levels. The risk is higher to W of London - possible snow might briefly accumulate on highest ground of Chilterns ect.

Next week will feel like a shock to the system - the transition to a colder airmass will be very apparent with temperatures staying below average for at least the next week or so from Monday. Thursday is looking notably cold - maximums may only be in low to mid single digits.

Something of a shock to system coming soon…

Max temperatures over next few days will be closer to April values by next Monday they will be closer to midwinter.

The colder weather next week looks mostly dry with crisp sunshine featuring. A recipe for frosty nights including urban areas.

Actress and dancer June Havoc was born #OnThisDay in 1912. This cream silk-faille gown with a beaded bodice and spectacular 3D bow at the back dates to the 1950s and may have belonged to Havoc (it does look very similar to the dress in the photo!). For sale via Timeless Vixen. #fashionhistory
