Husband, father, friend, and banker…mostly in that order. Living on the darkside of Halifax and sorting through this existence one day at a time. Opinions are mine…blah blah blah…not in any way associated with my employer…blah blah blah…cheeseburger.

Like if you enjoyed the third act and didn’t care about any of the characters doing heroic sacrifices fine ok but I think the movie did a really good war/spy movie job of giving everyone some substance and if you don’t like these guys I simply think your heart is too cold

Well, if Eagles can hold Dallas to a field goal here that will be a REALLY good defensive stop.
Great job by Eagles defense when they really needed the stop. 10-yard penalty on Dallas didn't help them though.

Chaos on TwitterX as they roll out a new change which shows the location of the user and inadvertently reveal how many fake accounts there are and how much foreign interference.

Earlier a vocal Scottish independence campaigner was outed as an Iranian account. Then there’s this pro Trump one:

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

A stuffed nose and a long day are not going to keep me from what you people want: dunking all over this LLM-generated swill. I’ve got Moose & Marlow keeping me company on the couch and my wife is at a friend’s birthday party so let’s do this thing. (Mute this thread immediately if you don’t care).

I think it also shows how low the bar for good Star Wars film is. Some likable characters, charismatic villains, a vaguely coherent plot and a big battle at the end.

It's amazing it is that they kept failing to reach this bar

As I have said to students nowadays, the most important thing one learns in school is how to learn, and using LLMs completely defeats that objective. The process matters.

You don't use a fork lift the gym. The immediate result—weights up in the air—is not always the key reason to do something.
It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

The "liver, fava beans and a nice chianti" line in Silence Of The Lambs is a little joke for psychiatrists in the audience - those foods cannot be consumed with the meds (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) that Lecter is supposed to be taking.
