Second, I am VERY aware of ND-5's reputation as the Hot Droid. So I pitched a moment which was literally "ND-5 emerges from the water, like Daniel Craig in Casino Royale."

This moment made it into the book. You're welcome. THE END and PREORDER NOW and MORE TO COME

Recommend that your library buy the books you want to read! Often they will take suggestions both for physical AND ebooks (on overdrive? libby? whatever it is now)

there's also HOOPLA, which gives writers a pay-per-borrow amount!
just use the fucking library.

I posted a buy link here to "A Magical Inheritance" a few days ago, and 24 of you immediately went to Anna's Archives and fucking stole it from me.

Since before the dark times, I've maintained this handy list of space opera novels by cisgender women, trans, and non-binary authors.

If that sounds like something you need in your life, check out the spreadsheet. Suggestions always welcome via the form! #books

In this (free!) essay, Freyja Stokes discusses the connection between the histories of sex work and witchcraft, and how Terry Pratchett uses that in the character of Mrs Palm.

Remember that striking Starbucks workers are asking you not to buy Starbucks right now

i always follow up with, “this is what public libraries are for, ppl. and libraries pay authors."
People who pirate books: “I just think art and literature should be FREE to everyone!”

Yes, I too would love to live in a world where art is accessible freely to all and yet artists are paid a living wage, but as this magical wagical pixie wixie land does not exist, please don’t steal from us.

i want to be more optimistic about technology. however, i refuse to be exited about billionaires using tech for oppressive systems. i’m a star trek girlie. i want tech that benefits everyone—not a handful of white dudes with pretensions of godhood.
November 23, 2025 at 6:17 PM
okay. i’ve bad talked on llms enough—yeah, i know. it probably looks weird that someone who is as into sf as i am should be so negative about technology. part of it is, i spent a large part of my day job life in tech. the shine is off. the other is, i read about it. a lot.

time to get busy.

"As the AI revolution races on and companies pour billions into their buildouts, public opposition to data center development is increasingly the face of resistance to the technology itself."
