I've been informed that the man in this video is Matthew James Obadiah Allen, better known as Twin Cities hip hop artist Nur-D
Minneapolis protester as he's being brutalized by feds: "You're gonna have to kill me! You're gonna have to kill me! I've done nothing wrong! My name is Matthew James! I'm a US citizen! You're gonna kill me! Is that what you want?" (You can hear his wife screaming)

I know we're all seeing 87 unhinged things per day, but "guys if our multi billion dollar product doesn't start being useful for something, literally anything, the people might not appreciate us wrecking the planet over it anymore" is a truly bananapants thing to say out loud
Delicious to me

4 out of 5 previews on my audible home screen are for Harry Potter related items. I have a hard time believing that that's the level of demand.

It's why i keep reiterating the point that if you just "read what looks good", the likelihood is high that you're reading what someone else wants you to.

Absolutely disgraceful behaviour by the AWW board. Of course every author withdrew from the festival! This kind of censorship is disgusting & we can't tolerate/encourage it.
Adelaide Writers’ Week 2026, part of Adelaide Festival, has been cancelled after a number of authors boycotted the event after Australian-Palestinian author and academic Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah was removed from the line-up 👇 #BookSky

The hardest part about reading short fiction is the part where you have to stop every couple of paragraphs and stare into space and think “holy shit, I love short fiction.”

This was something I did not know…! It’s filling me with all kinds of warm fuzzies 🥰
Fun fact. In 2023, as World Fantasy Con was wrapping up, when I asked folks what the highlight of the con was, multiple people said "Jennifer Hudak's reading." Impressive under any circumstances - but especially so considering how many incredible famous rock star writers gave readings at the event.

I've battled Long Covid, struggled, and really pushed myself harder than I have in a long time creatively, but have managed to finish a new novel, the first since I got Covid in 2022. It took 4 years, instead of the usual 1, because it's tougher to juggle a day job and writing at the same time.

Hello there 45k words. The Maroon is officially a novel.

The end is so close. Another 2k words or so?

In the old days I'd be pulling a late late night tonight to just stay in the seat until it's done. Alas, I'm going to see what I can do before it gets too late and then get back on the bike tmrw

Welp glad i didnt waste my time by watching
If you haven't seen One Battle After Another it portrays pro-Black movements as unorganized and full of snitches. It shows Black women as sex crazed for white men, snitches and bad mothers. And the only Black man lasted 20 minutes, had a white girl and got riddled with bullets

I returned to SFWA today. And in 2 years when I'm running for a bord seat or office, don't say I didn't tell you I plan on fixing this shit. That AI convo from a couple of weeks ago was so out of touch and condescending to writers and I need want to see the org get back to taking its mission serious
